This issue has been everywhere recently, and it makes me sick to my stomach that bullying is happening so young. Celebrities, like Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John, and Ricky Martin, are doing their part to campaign for support from home and the classroom to turn this path around. So, I thought I would do my part. The attacks have been primary focused around homosexual teens and preteens, but it only starts there. No bullying is ever okay, at any age and over any prejudice.
Whether or not you believe homosexuality is right or wrong, good according to your religion, beautiful or disgusting, being mean is never right. If you have children, teach them everyone is equal, no matter the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, who they are friends with. Teach them to stay strong and have pride and self esteem. Open communication can work wonders between children and their parents, and home is the first step to making this evil cycle stop. Please, do what you can to help this cause.
